Prison Visiting
Lynda's PACT St Dismas Award
Onley Prison
Lynda Howells was presented with the PACT St Dismas award for her dedication and support as a family services volunteer at
Onley Prison. Lynda received her award at the House of Lords. Lynda said "I accepted this award partly for Mothers' Union Coventry Diocese who support me so much for Onley and also my church family at
St John's Kenilworth."
Lynda, Heather and Rosie continue to support families and friends when they come to visit prisoners.
There have been a lot of first time visitors who need support to explain to them how everything works.
There has been an increase in children who suffer from autism so we are building up toys ear muffs and items which are suitable for the children.
A Mother’s Union member has made a donation to be used at Onley directed for prisoners. It is being used to buy back packs for prisoners when they are released who do not have a suitable bag to put their things in and are only given a bin bag.
Thank you to everybody who brought gifts for to the Advent service for children of prisoners at HM Prison Onley and cards for prisoners at HM prison Rye Hill.
As ever thank you so much for your support and prayers.

Christmas cards offer such comfort to the inmates and were blessed at the Advent Service ready for distribution as we have done in previous years.
I continue to support inmates such as ‘J’ over the years and he says he looks forward to my visits, counts the weeks - as they make the months go quicker.
New volunteers are always needed and I would be happy to chat with anyone felt called to this valuable ministry.
